2026 marks the 30th anniversary of Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS). Formed when the Dyfed, Powys and West Glamorgan Fire Brigades came together, the Service has spent three decades working as one to help keep our communities safe.
Celebrating this milestone is not only about acknowledging the Service’s accomplishments but also about honouring the individuals whose bravery and dedication have ensured the safety, support, and pride of Mid and West Wales.
To mark this milestone, this November, we will come together to host a special one-off recognition event, Beyond the Call: 30 Years Together – an evening dedicated to recognising the individuals, teams, volunteers and partners who have helped shape and strengthen our Service and communities.
This year, we are taking a new approach. Instead of traditional award categories and winners, we are introducing “30 Recognitions”. A Service-wide initiative to celebrate 30 individuals or teams whose stories reflect the difference we make to our communities, the values we demonstrate every day, and the people who have shaped our Service, past and present.
These recognitions are not about competition. They are about telling real stories of compassion, dedication, leadership and teamwork. From extraordinary acts to everyday moments of care and support, each recognition highlights the meaningful impact our people have across Mid and West Wales.
For the first time, recognitions are invited not only from colleagues across the Service, but also from members of the public - offering a wider opportunity for communities to recognise those who have made a meaningful impact.
Submit your recognitions now and help us celebrate the people who make a real difference.
By completing the form, you can help us recognise the individuals, teams, volunteers and partners whose dedication, care and commitment go far Beyond the Call – and whose contribution deserves to be seen, shared and celebrated.
Do you know any individuals, teams, volunteers and partners who deserves recognition? Tell us who they are and why their contribution matters. You may want to share how they have supported others, lifted those around them, made a meaningful difference in their community, or shown exceptional dedication in their role. No act is too small to matter – every entry helps tell the story of the people whose care, commitment and service leave a lasting mark.
Recognitions can be submitted using the nomination form.
