On Thursday, 17th August, crews from Glynneath Fire Station joined forces with South Wales Police, Dyfed-Powys Police, Central Beacons Mountain Rescue and Natural Resources Wales for a Water Safety Day in the Glynneath Waterfalls area.
With the summer in full swing and school holidays fast approaching, the waterfalls in this area are becoming increasingly popular.
Accidents in the water can happen to anyone. Even those who are well prepared can find themselves in difficulty when in the water, so knowing what to do in an emergency is essential.
This multi-agency event was a great opportunity for members of the public to watch some water rescue demonstrations as well as get safety information and speak with the partner Services.
Remember, always respect the water.
